Terms of use

Effective 11 October 2026. These terms are between you and Leng Song Quek, Singapore ("we"), and cover your use of the PocketTape app. By using the app you agree to them.

1. Using the app

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use PocketTape on devices you own or control, under the rules of the store you downloaded it from. You may not copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, or use it to break the law.

2. Measurements are estimates

PocketTape is a convenience tool, not a certified measuring instrument. Camera measurements are estimates and can be wrong, especially on plain, shiny or dimly lit surfaces and over long distances. The ruler depends on your calibration and the level depends on your phone's sensors and case. Always confirm with a proper measuring tool before you cut, drill, build, buy or order anything to size, and never rely on PocketTape for safety-critical, professional, legal or trade measurements.

3. PocketTape Pro subscription

• What you get: no ads, area measurement, unlimited saved measurements and spreadsheet export.
• Price and period: the monthly or yearly price shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.
• Billing: payment is charged to your Apple or Google account when you confirm the purchase. If a free trial is offered, you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• Automatic renewal: the subscription renews for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancelling: cancel at any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds: are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. Nothing in these terms limits refund rights you have by law.
• Price changes: if the price changes, the store will tell you in advance and you can cancel before it takes effect.

4. Ads

The free version shows advertising provided by Google AdMob. We do not choose individual ads and are not responsible for advertisers' products. See the privacy policy for what this involves and your choices.

5. Our responsibility to you

The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from relying on a measurement the app gave. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or takes away consumer rights you have where you live.

6. Changes and ending

We may update the app and these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app. You can stop using the app at any time; we may end your licence if you seriously break these terms.

7. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
